The fundamental purpose of theological education is to train the students for theological, teaching or other religious services in the Hungarian Evangelical Fellowship, other denominations or in nondenominational settings. (Our students are able to attain the special denominational and confessional knowledge at different accredited educational institutes maintained by other denominations.)

Our students become acquainted with the important questions of the Christian faith and tradition, the conceptual and scientific systems and the tradition of the Hungarian Evangelical Fellowship and their own denomination. They will acquire the necessary knowledge in pedagogy especially the teaching of religion and learn about the general cultural, social and scientific knowledge of man.

We focus on the knowledge that is obtained through skill development, so the graduates, who show exemplary conduct, can have an influence on the members of their congregations, and young people in particular.

We make an effort to represent the values of the gospel that is for every man and woman; to emphasize social and charity values, and to form an attitude that is dialogue-oriented, showing respect for other denominations, beliefs and convictions.

We are committed to the idea of Jewish-Christian brotherhood, and recognize the significance of understanding the lives of minorities, especially the Roma and all our socially disadvantaged brothers and sisters.
