Faculty of Ecology

This department trains applied environmental scientists according to modern scientific principles. Their skills in foreign languages allow them to understand international literature and to maintain professional relationships with colleagues abroad. In addition, they will be proficient in mathematics, technology, chemistry, physics, Earth-science, biology and safety sciences. The program teaches application of these proficiencies together with ecological principles. As a skillful expert they may seek employment immediately after graduation, or pursue an MA degree.

As environmental scientists they will be able to conduct research connected to environmental science. They can work for institutes engaged in the protection of the environment and nature, for research and development centers, and for administrative authorities. They can also participate in solving problems in the field of environment and nature protection and safety in industry, water conservancy, forestry, agriculture, public health, municipals and civil organizations.

Specializations of the department:

– Environmental safety: This specialization prepares a person to perform tasks which lead to a diagnosis and an analysis of the problem before making a decision;

– Environmental Safety Manager: This specialization prepares one for managing professional matters in an innovative and co-operative way; it also prepares for solving management problems and tasks.

Opportunities for employment include: Local authorities and public administration, corporate sector, research institutes, educational institutes, law enforcement agencies, (fire-protection, civil defense, disaster recovery, police etc.), civil and charitable organizations.
